CSA produce for the week:

Starting this week, I will be posting about our freshly delivered CSA veggies every Friday since that’s the day they arrive. However, right now we’re still getting used to the blog and are also a bit behind schedule as far as using the veggies goes, so I’m going to post about them today!

This week we received a lovely bunch of spring onions, some delightful strawberries (those are already eaten, of course!), a bunch of fresh cilantro, some creasy greens (a little spice! very tasty!), beautiful beets with the greens still attached, spinach, collard greens, and rosy radishes (Robust Red).

We have also set out one pound of ground beef and two cube steaks for the week. I’m not yet sure what we’ll be doing with the produce or the meat. It’ll be at least until tomorrow before they’ve thawed enough to cook with so we have a little bit of time to decide how exactly we want to throw these ingredients together! If you’re reading and have any suggestions for starting points, feel free to post them! We love new ideas and are willing to try eating or cooking almost anything. Naturally, we will probably revise any recipes quite a bit to avoid unnecessary trips to the store and to use up the staples we keep in the pantry as well as our fresh veggies.

I look forward to writing up more recipes this week and also giving you all a good idea of what staples we keep and how we buy them. That’s a different post, but I promise it’ll be coming soon! We also plan to start taking pictures of what we cook so we can show you what the completed recipes look like!
